Student teaching!

So as I mentioned in the prior post, I have started student teaching. I am teaching grades 7, 8, Art 1, Art 2, Art technology and Art seminar. This will happen gradually as I take on one grade/ level per week, until by the end of my 8 weeks, I will be the full-on teacher! eeek!! So tomorrow I start teaching 7th grade...this means my work load has blown up in my face. I have to write unit plans, lesson plans, daily logs, daily reflections, special needs forms, weekly evaluations, make powerpoints, handouts, make examples of their projects and do the student teaching handbook requirements (i dont know what they are yet...I havent read that thing yet, oops...). So this means SOOOO much paperwork...plus teaching (8hrs at school)...and NO PAY. gr. Oh well, It is a good experience, it is just a crazy one too.

Oh and I got my hair cut--- Go Pauls mommy (shes my mommy too now...)!!

Paul took this while I was getting ready on my first day of class.

Pose!

Woo- wee!

See ya :)

This took awhile...

I know, I know, it has been a LOOOONG time since Paul or I have posted but we have been busy bees! I started student teaching up here in Erie and that is soaking up a good bit of my time. Paul is going to school and working so that is also taking up a bit of his time.

Anyways.

Yesterday we decided to go out into Erie to get some groceries at wegmans...well around 5 minutes into the drive we realized this was probably a bad idea. we could not see the roads- the snow had completely covered the roads, and us, being the genius's we are took the little focus. To make a long story short: i shook, i cried, the car spun off the road...but we did make it, and the snow did stop enough for us to make it back home. so we survived the snow squalls yet again.

man. I hate this weather!

Me with my hat and hands that mandie knit me for christmas (before the dangerous drive)

Look at those roads! This was that point where we realized...'hmph. this was a bad idea...'

The roads were my enemy.

Hey look! leeloo came to see the snow!

These are the roads. They want us to drive on these...????

Craziness

Well.  Paul and I have been having serious issues with the Internet...as you can see through lack of posts.  Not to mention we are getting ready to have paul's family (5 people), my sister (flyin' in from good ol' California), my mom and her bf, and of course paul and me (plus 2 kittcats) in for the holidays. It will be a full house.  I have been cooking and cleaning like a mad woman to prepare for this and, fear not! I will post pictures of all that goes down on this Thanksgiving afterwards.  My sister and sister-in-law are going to be staying for black friday where we will surely take on erie with a vengeance.  I will be getting a laptop for myself :) and gifts for the family.

I hope you all have a great and thankful thanksgiving :D

Chimera

Last night we went to an art exhibition put on by our school in downtown Erie. To start the night we went out with Paul's coworker and his girlfriend to Oscars Pub for some tasty dinner. I got a turkey reuben with homemade chips and Paul got the, much talked about, fish sandwich. It was really yummy! Then we headed off to 'Chimera' at the Erie Art Museum Annex. Swanky times. We noshed on some tuscan themed snacks, checked out the art and watched a couple bands perform. We headed out around 10:45...and on the way out of Erie we had the car in front of us T-bone another car. That was a little freaky- I hope everyone made it out ok... So that was our night. It was fun- Oh and Paul got to see the tickets he designed in action! And his t-shirts too! He got one for free :) they went over really well!!

Saying bye-bye to Leeloo before we went out.

New shoes... snow

Well I bought some new shoes. And I like 'em. So I will show you some pictures :)

Now for the more serious task at hand. The snow. I don't like it and I'm not ready for it. But it comes anyways.

Oh and here is the infamous picture of Shotzye falling off the chair since she was moving so strange with her costume on.

...
Tonight Paul and I are going to go to the Chimera Soiree at the art museum- Paul designed the shirts that are for sale there- and the tickets to get in too! So Ill post some pics of tonight later.
