A Whole Lot

We have been up to a bunch lately. Pauls fam came out and visited us this past week/weekend and we had a great time hanging out, being tourists, and relaxing at home. Paul's fam seemed to have a really great time out here, eating up a bunch of yummy food that Paul and I made for them: our french toast, the AWESOME chocolate chip cookies, lasagna, Mmmmmm.... We also went to Alexandria, downtown DC, checked out the white house, went to museums, watched movies, played Wii (a lot), and took them around Waldorf (Oooo- exciting!!), all in a matter of 2 1/2 days!

In other news, I have been trying to get my classes under control...it seems that they are getting more and more restless with school. Spring break on the horizon, only 1 more quarter left, state testing, and some pretty hefty projects are adding up for them, and it shows. I would say twice last week, I was about to call it quits. Its like dejavu from the beginning of the year. Well, enough about all that bummy stuff, lets check out some pics!

OH! OH! OHHHH! I forgot to tell ya guys, I did win the bake sale- Most Unique- for the cake pops. I am still waiting on the gift certificate though. grr. I want to go out to eat :D And there were a lot of entries...so each award went to another person. I was hoping for a clean sweep. But I cannot complain! My choc chip cookies were GOOONE (I suspect I should have won best tasting on those sucka's...not many other treats were all gone! Yeah baby!)

A Paul tattoo update: Peely

Here are some of my students in my best class...They are working on the Mona Lisa (they didn't know it yet, in this picture)

New shoes. AH! They are reallllly comfortable! Crazy, I know, but they honestly are. I cant wait til it warms up a bit so I can sport them at school.

Bridesmaid dress. We decided on the bow in the back.

Me layin down with beebee leeloo.

At a museum in DC. Very cool waves!! Art nouveau at its best.

Super sad sculpture titled, "I am Nobody"
It reminded us of Leeloo's sinewy body.

Creepy colorful fish.
We said it represents Gavin's brain at all times: colorful, crazy, busy.

Family Portrait- Lovin' Tessa's pose!!

Gotta love this!
oh, and it was a yucky day that Saturday...rainy- blah, but still fun.

Tess and I on the metro

The chocolate chip cookies
These are what dreams are made of.

Some donuts I made! I realized I had never made them before, so I made a batch. Mmm.

The star of the show: Shotzye (in her 'bed' - a free box from costco- beats the $ 25 I wanted to get her- she loves the cardboard)

Shotzye was a crowd favorite when we had the Haggerty's over. In fact, while we were out, we asked Tessa if she wanted anything, and she simply replied, "Yeah, Shotzye"

haha!

Soooooo. Paul had his second tattoo appointment today (Saturday). He had made the appt. for 4 hours since it was going to be all of the coloring (and hopefully the shading). Weeeell...it took 5 hours to do the black alone...so he did not get the shading in, but at least the hard *PAINFUL* part is done!! During the tattoo today, Paul was in quite a bit of hurt. After turning to me and mouthing, "I feel weird" (aka...almost passing out) 2 times, I figured he needed a break. I *luckily* brought some granola bars and water so he was able to get some sustenance during it. The girl tattooing him got some aleve for him to take since there was still a lot to do. She did all of the coloring in a concentrated, 5 point needle (the same one that the outlining is done in). He was pretty bloody and tore up. But the good news?? It looks sweeeeet! Welp. No more waiting, here it is!

Clearly not enjoying this session.

Puffy.

Laying down (after the 'feeling weird' moment)

YAY!!! This picture represents both relief AND misery.

Close shot.

All of the shading and purple will be done in the next session.

For Mandie (the shoes)

The lady at Costco wouldn't give me a sample of popcorn until I told her where I got my shoes. haha

A sneak peek at my tattoo idea.

Gimme gimme gimme gimme lovers tonight: Stella

Charles E. Krah came out to visit this week so that we could attend the Stella show on Tuesday... so I dress up in my finest, wearing a brand new pair of 4" heels...We took the metro to Chinatown* and ended up walking about 6-100 blocks to the synagogue** that the show was at. Well, while we were walking up to the place late (since I twisted my ankle on those darn brick roads about 20 times) we ran into Michael Showalter smoking before they went on. crazy! So the show was hilarious and we got to meet all 3 of the guys and Eugene Mirman. awesomeeee. Here are some pics from the night:
*First rule of riding the metro: make sure you know which exit to take at your station because the underground metro stations are so freaking HUGE that if you leave the station at the wrong exit you are like...a good mile to 3 miles from where you wanted to exit...HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN!?

**Weird venue, right?

The Setting:

A lone metro with Paul, Chuck, me, random guy, bizzare looking lady with a FBI hat on and a bunch of luggage

The Story:

-3 friends enter the metro, ride one station until crazy lady gets on...lady starts singing as loud as possible, "Raging WAAAAR!!, Waging WAR!"
-Random guy looks at 3 friends and shares a brief moment of concern and fear

The Climax:

Woman sings for the remainder of the 6 stops...friends laugh uncontrollably and start to tap, clap and sing along with her (secretly)

The end.

On the inside

Michael Ian Black (guy on the right) was reminising or something at this point and the other 2 were "frozen," well, Showalter (left) picked a really hard pose to hold and Black was messing with him here.

Ah-ha moment...title of this post

I gave him a high five tooooo!

Downstairs at the Q + A

Eugene Mirman...he has got some strange coloring...

Funny.

Like I said...not a good idea.

MAC baby!! Pigments...I am so excited to mess around with these!
(These were a early Christmas present because Paul couldnt wait to give them to me! haha)

two posts in one night...wha!?

That's right. 2 posts in only one night. its a record. mark it.

I bought comfy, nice, quality, pricey-er (well...I bought them on sale...) shoes. The length from my office to the main office in the school is a quarter of a mile...and I walk it quite a few times a day. Add teaching for 4 hours and being a teacher who 'floats'...you get something like, PAIN. And I'm not talking, "Oh my dogs are barking," pain. I'm talking, "Holy smokes people...I am feeling sharp and severe pains in my feet, and wait...is that my phone vibrating?? nope, it is my legs vibrating BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN ON THEM TOO LONG" pain. so i have an excuse. deal.
ORANGE! nine westy's

I tried taking a picture in the mirror, this the result.

Check out the bottom of these Hush Puppies! Cute!

The replacements have arrived.

I actually threw out an old pair of shoes! This is a miracle.

fall colors. yay.

Where's my warm apple cider?
