anyways. Paul and I voyaged to DC to visit his 1st cousin once removed..(his moms cousin). Sammie works in marketing and we are hoping he can hook paul up with some jobby interviews. Things went well at Sammie's and we brought some cupcakes with us (from lovecafe- warren brown from the food network's bakery) They were refreshing and light. Anywho- I made some no pudge brownies the other day...they were also good. too good. Can you tell we have no shortage of baked goods!?

You Wanted The Best You Got It

SOOOOOooooooo I am finally commit to posting on this darn gosh thing and you know what, it's great! Let me first just say I am very proud of Kaylee with her little Starbucks how-to. I coached a bit but all in all it looked great. Being a seasoned Barista (fancy name for coffee drink maker) I have my seasonal favorites. Right now I usually have a Starbucks Double Shot on Ice with caramel instead of the classic sweetener. It is basically five shots of espresso on ice with syrup and some milk. Needless to say this drink is not for beginners but if you need to wake up and cool down at the same time, nothing does it better than this beverage. I love it!!!

The cooler the weather gets I enjoy my cold weather favorite, a triple grande soy sub-hazlenut caramel macchiato. Now to those who may not be as Starbucks savvy all this drink is , is a caramel macchiato with hazlenut instead of the usual vanilla that it comes with. It also has an extra shot of espresso (triple) and soy milk. I know it may seem difficult but if you're up to it this drink is so darn good I rarely get anything else besides pumpkin spice which just came out mind you.

So I hope this was fun to read and feel free to ask any Starbucks related questions. I pretty much know all there is to know in the Starbucks realm. Till next time.

Hello fans. In my recent scour of the great and powerful internet I found a disturbing video. I know this might not seem like much but I think it is really something we all need to look into. As citizens of this fair planet, if this doesn't make you have a change of heart to what's going on in our global climate today, I don't know what will.

Cup o' the day.

I am going to try and post drinks that I like, and have had, from starbucks. This will mainly benefit my sis...since she wants to know how to order good drinks, but maybe it'll help some others out with getting familiar with the starbucks lingo.

Oh- a quick lesson on how to order:
#1: Size (tall (small), grande(medium), venti(large))
#2: Syrup (they offer sugar-free vanilla, caramel, cinnamon dolce, hazelnut)
#3: Milk type (non-fat, soy, 2%-what they will give you if you dont say anything, and whole)
#4: Anything custom (extra-hot, no-whip, extra foam, extra caramel sauce, decaf, light whip, etc.)
#5: Type of drink (latte, mocha, white mocha, caramel mocchiato (pronounced: mock-E-ah!-toe), cappuccino)
PS. If you want an iced drink make sure that is the #1 thing you say, then the rest follows the same

Alright, a drink I had yesterday...

Tall, toffee nut, soy (extra foam) latte: a earthy, sweet treat...if you miss whipped cream, ask for extra foam- soy foams up soooo nice. Yum!

Oh- Paul SHOULD be posting his fav's as well...I keep pushing him to post once in a while...he says he will. lets see...

glasses!

Along with health insurance comes VISION insurance :D So on Saturday we took a much needed visit to the eye doctors. We figured we could order contacts from the Internet so we decided to get new glasses. After looking at the hundreds of frames, Paul settled on a pair of nice Lucky Brand, horn-rimmed, pleasantly retro frames in a nice olive hue. I was on the search for some unique, but neutral glasses...and found them in a coppery, rectangular frames from Michael Kors. They even have a suggested zebra print on the side, nothing too flashy though. Well...glasses are expensive- even with insurance. but we both love our new frames and have decided to wear glasses more often then contacts...here are some pictures!!

two posts in one night...wha!?

That's right. 2 posts in only one night. its a record. mark it.

I bought comfy, nice, quality, pricey-er (well...I bought them on sale...) shoes. The length from my office to the main office in the school is a quarter of a mile...and I walk it quite a few times a day. Add teaching for 4 hours and being a teacher who 'floats'...you get something like, PAIN. And I'm not talking, "Oh my dogs are barking," pain. I'm talking, "Holy smokes people...I am feeling sharp and severe pains in my feet, and wait...is that my phone vibrating?? nope, it is my legs vibrating BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN ON THEM TOO LONG" pain. so i have an excuse. deal.

New job things.

Well I am now 4 days into my first ever, real-life, high school, art, omg, teaching job. Things started rocky...lets just say my first day I had to remove a student into the hallway to discuss the way r-e-s-p-e-c-t works around these parts. I'm also going to note there were some tears that happened when I got home. But now that I have begun some lessons, the students are doing much better and I feel much better prepared. Here are some pics of me getting ready for my first day.
